Do not gamble with your safety
When gambling here or abroad, you need to make sure that you are not gambling your safety. What do I mean by that? Simply put, things can happen in the blink of an eye, and if you are too engrossed in your gambling, you may very well end up dead. Think that I am joking? I am not. There have been several instances when a casino has caught on fire and people keep playing and ignoring the fire siren. Or worse yet, a robbery goes down and an innocent bystander gets caught in the crossfire.
These things happen more than people will admit. How do you take steps to ensure your safety when gambling in a casino? First of all, know your surroundings. Know where all the exits are, know where the alarms are and know which exit you will need to use in order to escape quickly. Now in the case of being robbed, either on the floor or in your hotel room, here is some advice.
To keep yourself from being robbed of your winnings, as soon as you are done playing, cash out and take the cash to the attendant in the front of the casino. Have them lock that up in the safe until you are ready to come get it. This will keep greedy individuals from robbing others of their good fortune. Never travel with a large sum of money and travel in pairs. Never travel alone. Tell someone where you are going and when you will be back. Never drink from a drink that has been sitting for a while, or drink one after you come back to a table. This will help you from being drugged in any fashion. Unfortunately, this type of thing happens more than the casinos will tell you.
Now, in case you are followed by a suspicious character, do not go straight to your room. Wander around until you lose pursuit. Always make certain that there is another person that you know around and never go anywhere alone without first telling someone where you are going. Never, ever give out personal information such as credit cards, bank statements and things of that nature to anyone except the cashier. This will help you from getting ripped off and made a possible victim of identity theft. Identity theft is becoming the number one theft all around the world.
Another thing that you will need to remember is safety when you are lodged at a online casino. Never ever let someone you don’t know into the same room as you if they are not from room service or do not have a legitimate reason for being in your hotel room. Keep all valuables locked up in the safe at the concierge desk or better yet, leave them at home. This includes electronics, computers, gaming consoles and cell phones. This is a potential goldmine for a thief and once gone, usually is never returned. So remember never to gamble with you safety at a casino. It may be the last time that you do.
